RENCI at UNC Asheville is an engagement site of the Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI), based in Chapel Hill. RENCI develops and deploys advanced technologies to enable research discoveries and practical innovations, partnering with researchers, policy makers, and technology leaders to engage and solve the challenging problems that affect North Carolina, our nation, and the world. The Institute was launched in 2004 as a collaborative effort involving the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, and North Carolina State University. RENCI Engagement Sites are located at UNC Asheville, Duke University, Eastern Carolina University, North Carolina State University, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Charlotte and UNC Coastal Studies Institute.
